“Behind every great man is a great woman.”
Martin Luther King Junior and Coretta Scott King. John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy. President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton. John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Shawn “Jay-z” Carter and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. David Beckham and Victoria Beckham. Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. Bill Gates and Melinda Gates.
The list goes on.
It’s no secret that many of the greatest, most successful, and most accomplished men in history have been in relationships with equally great, successful, and motivated women.
It is said that “behind every great man, is a great woman.” So it can also be said that “behind every motivated man, is a motivated woman.”
Motivated, driven, ambitious, determined, and successful people often come in twos. It’s no accident.
Behind every great man, there is often a great women pushing, motivating, and inspiring her partner to succeed, achieve, live his dreams, and realize his potential.
The following are three reasons why—as a man—loving a motivated woman is one of the greatest decisions you can make.
Reason # 1: Self-motivation Can Only Take You So Far. Your Motivated Woman Will Make You More Successful.
When you fall in love with your motivated woman, you can be sure that her motivation, inspiration, positivity, ambition, and drive are going to rub off on you. When you are in need of inspiration, your motivated woman will provide the ideas, advice, guidance, and positivity you need to boost your career to the next level.
Need a fresh idea for your next career move? Need a second opinion on a project you’re working on? Or do you simply need some words of encouragement to keep you going? You’re motivated woman will always have your back.
In an article in the Huffington Post titled “8 Things Power Couples Do Differently,” Nina Bahadur explains that one of the eight most powerful things that super-couples often do is brainstorm together. She quotes a Fortune article where the world’s richest man Bill Gates describes depending on his wife Melinda—his “key confidante”—for helpful advice.
That’s the kind of advice that you will be able to depend on when you connect with your motivated woman.
Not only will you depend on her for advice, your motivated partner is also going to constantly push you to be grow, improve, and be greater at your craft.
When power couples get together, they often rise to higher and higher levels of success and accomplishment the longer they’re together. Couples like Jay-z and Beyonce; President Barack and Michelle Obama; and Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith seem to just grow more and more successful as the years go by.
These super-couples often do very well together because they are constantly pushing each other to improve, grow, and get better.
That’s one of the greatest benefits of loving a motivated woman. You will never lose your ambition, motivation, inspiration, or drive to be better because your woman is constantly going to push you to be better than you already are.
Want to get in shape? She’ll push you to work out more often. Want more money? She’ll push to work harder for more. Want more growth in your career? She’ll give you that pep-talk you need to take yourself to the next level.
Your motivated woman is going to push you to be more successful than you could ever be on your own.
Reason #2: She’ll Pick You Up When You Fall Down
One of the most touching stories of a motivated woman picking up her man when he lost his way is the story of how Stephen King wrote and published Carrie—his first bestseller.
Having sold over three hundred and fifty million books, Stephen King is now known as one of the most accomplished authors ever. But before King achieved that success, Stephen was living in a trailer with his family and working summer jobs just to scrape by when he wasn’t busy teaching or writing. At the time, he did all of his writing on his wife Tabatha’s typewriter in their laundry room.
During that period of his life—before Carrie became a bestseller or a hit on the big screen—Stephen’s first hit novel was just an early draft of a manuscript that he wasn’t so sure about. Out of frustration and disappointment, King crumpled up that early draft and threw it in the trash. He had lost his faith in the project.
But before King could totally give up, his wife Tabatha discovered the crumpled up pages in the waste bin, saw the value in her husband’s idea, and motivated him to keep going. When he had lost all faith, she pushed him to keep trying.
After nine months of writing and thirty rejections from publishers, DoubleDay Publishing decided to give Stephen’s first novel the green-light in 1973.
The rest is history.
It’s a powerful story that wouldn’t have been possible without Tabatha’s motivation.
That’s what makes connecting your motivated woman so important.
Every man has moments when life knocks him down and he loses all hope, inspiration, faith, and motivation. When you find yourself in those dark moments, your motivated woman will always be there to pick you up—the same way Tabatha picked up Stephen King—when you don’t have the strength to pick yourself up.
Reason #3: Today’s Women Are More Motivated Than Ever Before. Motivated Women Are The Future.
Sixty million people in the United States are Millennials—people born between the early 1980’s and the early 2000’s. And thirty million are women.
According to a recent Killing The Breeze article titled “Why Millennial Women Are More Successful Than Ever,” Generation Y women are super-motivated. “They are ambitious, educated, enthusiastic, and determined to succeed in a world that has predominantly been ran by their male counterparts.”
Today’s women are driven, ambitious, and determined to win—more motivated than ever. And as we move closer and closer to gender equality, every generation of women is going to be more motivated than the last.
Motivated women are our future.
So connecting with your own motivated woman is one of the greatest moves you can make. Because your motivated woman is going to push you to be more successful than you could ever be on your own, inspire you to keep going when you lose all hope, and guarantee that the future doesn’t leave you behind.
