Nipsey Hussle was a rapper, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and change-maker who tragically died on March 31st of 2019.
These are two of Nipsey’s most inspiring moments that I have stumbled across in the past few weeks since he passed.
The first clip is from an interview he did on The Raw Word, a show hosted by Michael Eric Dyson. And the second clip is from a conversation that he had with Gary Vaynerchuk (Gary Vee) in late 2017.
Nipsey offers up some powerful insight about going against the grain and going against society in order to find your own path to success. He also touches on staying authentic and genuine with your music even after you circumstances change.
Quotes from the video:
“Would you rather be at war with yourself and at peace with the world? Or at peace with yourself and at war with the world?” – Nipsey Hussle
“As human beings, everybody has a natural gift and a natural passion. But then you go outside and you get influenced and you feel pressure.” -Nipsey Hussle
“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” -George Bernard Shaw
(Nipsey was quoting George Bernard Shaw there)
